Château Lascombes is an estate in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France known for its textured and extravagant style shown in their Bordeaux blend which was classified as second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification of the Medoc. The vineyards are situated in the northwest portion of the region and cover around 275 acres mostly in Margaux, but with a parcel in the Haut-Medoc appellation.
Named after one of its previous owners from the 17th Century, Antoine Chevalier de Lascombes, the chateau passed through numerous sales and inheritance issues until 1926. It became part of the Ginestet family holdings, owners of Chateau Margaux, that same year. Today, it is owned by the US-based Colony Capital group who were a large player in the modernization the Left Bank of Bordeaux as well as renovating estates and replanting vineyards. Not only has the wine been passed through owners, but the style has evolved as well. Although this wine tends to be the most modern styled wine in all of Margaux, it has continued to receive critical acclaim from tasters and consumers alike.
