Quinault l'Enclos

Situated in the city of Libourne in Saint Emilion, Chateau Quinault L’Enclos is an esteemed winery whose origins date back to the Gallo-Roman era. Nearly 20 hectares in size, the winery is known for their Merlot- dominant Grand Vin that come from predominately 45-year-old vines. With the vineyard’s close proximity to the Dordogne River in Bordeaux, the microclimate offers warm temperatures that allow the wines to reach optimal maturity each vintage.

In regards to ownership, the chateau was family-owned until Alain Raynaud of Chateau La Fleur de Gay Pomerol purchased it and replanted most of the vines in 1997. By 2008, Raynaud sold it to the owners of Cheval Blanc who helped modernize and transform the winery. Today, Chateau Quinault L’Enclos is organic, biodynamic, and as of 2014, includes Cabernet Sauvignon into their blend. They produce close to 7,500 cases of wine per year.
