They opened to the public in 2003 showcasing their Cabernet Sauvignon based portfolio as well as some of their Chardonnay, Merlot, and Syrah bottles. Nickel & Nickel sources its fruit from different vineyards across Napa Valley and showcases them in their single-vineyard wines. From Rutherford, Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain, Stags Leap District, and beyond, the idea was to let each wine display its individual terroir. Vintage after vintage the wines continue to receive high praise from press and consumers alike, and represent high quality production in the Napa Valley.
The Nickel & Nickel Cabernet Sauvignon State Ranch 2017 is a distinguished single-vineyard wine from Napa Valley's Yountville AVA, showcasing the unique terroir of the State Ranch vineyard. Crafted from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine undergoes sustainable farming and is aged for 16–18 months in mostly new French oak. It presents a deep garnet-purple color and offers an expressive bouquet of chocolate-covered cherries, wild blueberries, and warm cassis, accented by floral and savory notes. The palate is medium to full-bodied, featuring juicy fruit, soft tannins, and earthy undertones, leading to a satisfying finish.
