“This fabled terroir sandwiched between Petrus and Lafleur (hence the name) generally produces one of the more elegantly-styled Pomerols.”
– Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Situated less than a stone’s throw away from two of the greatest estates in Bordeaux, Château Petrus and Château Lafleur, it’s easy to see how Château La Fleur-Pétrus got its name. This Merlot-dominant grand vin is known for its elegance, structure, and precision. The property is about 46 acres and planted to mostly Merlot on gravel soils which result in the refined style of the wines. In 1953, the chateau was purchased by Jean-Pierre Moueix who then added nearly 10 acres of vines to the property from neighboring Château Le Gay. The finesse and elegance shown in Château La Fleur Petrus result in an ability to age gracefully and continue to improve for decades to come.
