Domaine Bruno Clavelier is an estate located in a small commune of Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits district of Burgundy. In the late 1980s after a successful rugby career, Bruno Clavelier took over from his grandfather introducing a purist approach to winemaking—introducing biodynamic farming practices and has since achieved organic certification. Domaine Bruno Clavelier’s vineyards spread along Côte de Nuits from its only Grand Cru wine, Corton Le Rognet, to its Premier Cru wines from Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits Saint Georges. The Domaine’s mission is to capture the terroir of each plot and the climate of each vintage when producing its Burgundian wines.
The Bruno Clavelier Vosne Romanee La Combe Brulee Vieilles Vignes 2019 is crafted from old-vine Pinot Noir situated in a stony limestone vineyard known for its cool air flow, ensuring elegance and complexity. The wine showcases a medium crimson hue, with ripe red fruit notes reminiscent of raspberry and strawberry, complemented by a silky texture. Its minerality and balanced acidity enhance the palate, leading to a persistent finish. Produced with minimal intervention and certified organic practices, this wine reflects the terroir's character and offers strong aging potential. The blend is primarily from massal-selected vines planted in 1928.
