Guy Roulot

Founded in 1830 by Guillaume Roulot, Domaine Roulot is known for its high-quality Chardonnay production in the Meursault appellation of Côte de Beaune. Despite not using fruit from any grand cru vineyards, the village and premier cru vineyards have built the reputation one of the most upper-echelon producers for white wines in all of Burgundy.

These days it is managed by Jean-Marc Roulot, who took over in 1989, and his philosophy is to produce wines that he would like to drink rather than making wines that will appeal to modern palates. The most famous wines that the Domaine produces come from the Charmes and Perrieres premier cru vineyards, and the late Guy Roulot was one of the first producers of the region to bottle single vineyards separately, including lieux-dits of the village classification, and since then, many other domains have followed suit.
