Domaine des Beaumont

Alongside the serious red wines that Domaine des Beaumont produces, they also make a beautiful Cremant de Bourgogne rose. What made this famed Burgundy producer begin to make a sparkling libation. Well it all has to do with Thierry Beaumont’s wife. He stated that, “he felt that his wife was buying too much champagne, so he stopped making Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire and Bourgogne Aligoté in order to have grapes to makes his own sparkling wine”.

Luckily for Beaumont, the demand for sparkling wine from the region has increased exponentially in the past few years. The decision to make Cremant de Bourgogne is yet another example of Thierry making the wine world of Burgundy his own. Though his family has been making wine for multiple generations, it was Thierry and his wife, Sylvie, who decided that they should bottle it under their own name rather than selling to a negociant. Today the domaine has everything from village level to Grand Cru level wines. Domaine des Beaumont’s wines are more powerful and tannic than many of its neighbors perfect for those new world wine drinkers that are looking to expand their cellars.
