“Voerzio’s passion, his ability to make fabulous, age worthy wines even in the smallest vintages, and his total commitment to quality, even over a period of years that have been very difficult on a personal level place him at the pinnacle of achievement among the world’s most gifted winemakers.”
–Antonio Galloni
Roberto Voerzio was founded in 1986 in La Morra which is a village deep in the heart of the Langhe region of Piedmont. The wines are typically sold at auction and are known for being ripe, opulent, tannic, and made for aging. Roberto Voerzio’s fruit comes from their 21 acres of some of the best and oldest vineyeards in La Morra, which are mentioned municipality documents dating back to 1350. Their esteemed wines are made from the six different, low-yielding Barolo Crus: Brunate, Cerequio, Capalot, La Serra, Pozzo dell’Anunziata, and Sarmassa di Barolo. Roberto Voerzio’s portfolio is rounded out by its two Barbera d’Alba wines, a Dolcetto d’Alba, a Langhe Merlot, and a Langhe Nebbiolo. The combination of traditional winemaking methods with a modern take has made Voerzio a new-age example for Barolo.
