Weingut Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken is situated in the Saar valley sub-region of Mosel, Germany. The estate is exclusively planted to Riesling, from which it creates its extensive portfolio of dry Riesling wines alongside the more well-known sweet counterparts of Auslese, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein.
The Zilliken Saarburger Rausch TBA 2005 is an exquisite dessert wine from the Mosel Saar Ruwer region, notable for its rarity and meticulous hand-picking process. This wine, crafted from the steep grey-slate slopes, showcases a remarkable balance of lush sweetness and vibrant acidity, resulting in an elegant profile. Tasting notes reveal layers of apricot nectar, candied citrus, and honey interwoven with hints of saffron and slate minerality. With an alcohol content of approximately 6-7% and raised in old fuders, this wine is made for aging, promising complexity and richness for decades to come. The term "Rausch" aptly reflects its intoxicating character.
